FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Grammy-winning country music superstar Brad Paisley is releasing new music today as part of an ongoing project titled Tacklebox. A portion of this new music comes from his extensive catalog of unreleased and unrecorded songs, dating back to the 90s, when his career began. Other songs were recently written and inspired by that style and by the unmistakable 90s sound of Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, and Alabama, as well as 80s-influenced productions similar to those of George Strait, Garth Brooks, and others. The first song from Tacklebox, “Fallin’,” is available now across all digital platforms HERE.
“I see this ‘project’ as never-ending. It’s almost like the fans have a direct link to my Dropbox or to a playlist that never ends,” said Brad. “We are calling it Tacklebox because it’s a box full of hooks, country lyric hooks. In this digital age, I have every song I’ve ever written at my fingertips. This project gave us a license to dig back into the catalog of songs that were never released, that feel like a time period, a style of writing, a sound, and nostalgia. We went back into the studio to record or re-record at The Castle in Franklin, TN, the same place where several of my first few albums were recorded. When I first started writing and recording music, I couldn’t have dreamed of the ability to put something out instantly for the fans.”
Additional music from Tacklebox will be released this week. Stay tuned to Brad’s digital and social media channels for up-to-date information: BradPaisley.com | Facebook | X | Instagram | Youtube.
Brad will perform a pivotal song from his catalog, “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” with Idol contestant Lucas Leon during tonight’s live American Idolfinale. Brad wrote “I’m Gonna Miss Her” in 1995, during his senior year at Belmont University, for his senior showcase. It became his third #1 single in 2002, bringing his career total to 25 #1 songs. American Idol airs on ABC at 8 p.m., streams live on Disney+, and is available the next day on Hulu. Last week, Belmont University presented Honorary Doctorates to Brad and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, at the university's graduation ceremony in recognition of their philanthropic work in Nashville.
