PASP_Logo_FullColor (1).pngPanthers Adaptive Skating Program, presented by ABA Centers of Florida, is a four-week program for athletes with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.

This program is in collaboration with the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA), dedicated to serving those with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities through the sport of ice hockey.

In addition to skill building, our Adaptive Skating Program focuses on building a sense of community, positively impacting the quality of life for the athlete and their family.   Learn more about Adaptive Skating, Adaptive Hockey and Sled Hockey below!

Panthers Adaptive Skating

This is an adaptive version of ice skating for athletes with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities. This program provides a supportive and fun environment for skaters to develop ice skating skills, make new friends and have fun!

Adaptive Skating is a perfect introduction to ice skating in preparation for participation in Adaptive Hockey! 

Panthers Adaptive Hockey

This is an adaptive version of ice hockey for athletes with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. This program provides a supportive and fun environment for athletes of differing abilities with a focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, friendships and achieving goals on and off the ice. 

Standard hockey equipment is used with adaptive modification to meet the athletes needs.  This is a non-contact and non-competitive sport and equipment and skating aides are allowed to support the athletes safe and confident participation, this can include wheelchairs (please check in advance). 

Prior participation in Adaptive Skating, Learn to Skate classes or similar program is strongly encouraged.  

Sled Hockey

Sled Hockey offers an opportunity for individuals with physical disabilities to participate in ice hockey with the facilitation of sleds and other adaptive equipment. Practices and games are divided into youth and adult sections.

American Special Hockey Association

ALL Panthers Adaptive Skating Program participants must be registered with the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA). This is a FREE membership for all skaters. Be sure to read about the benefits of this exciting membership. To register, please click HERE

ASHA is dedicated to serving those with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities through the sport of hockey and provides an environment of learning, mutual respect and a sense of community to thousands of athletes and families across North America.
